Coral Colours

Corals are traded based on their colours and are classified into red corals, white corals, pink corals and also black corals. Corals are of organic origin like natural pearls. They are called organic since they are naturally created by small marine animals in deep sea, whereas other gemstones like ruby, sapphire, amethyst etc are made of rock minerals found in the land. Corals (name of Greek origin) are found in deep sea at depths ranging from 100-1000 feet. In their natural form, they are found as branching skeleton like structures and they are built by small marine animals called 'Coral Polyps'.

Coral Jewellery

Red shades of coral are sometimes used as a gemstone, especially in Tibet. In vedic astrology, red coral represents Mars. Pure red coral is known as 'fire coral' and it is very rare because of the demand for perfect fire coral for jewellery making purposes.

Information About Coral & Its Healing Properties

Moh's hardness of coral is 3-4 which means it is a softer material (diamond has a Moh's hardness of 10 and is the hardest stone) and larger pieces can be carved to create stunning pieces of jewellery.

Coral, when worn in its natural authenticity is believed to provide healing properties and is associated with protection from danger. The Romans believed coral could protect children from harm, as well as cure wounds made by snakes and scorpions and diagnose diseases by changing colour.

We only used farmed and fossilized Corals in our Coral Jewellery designs. Our collection of designer Coral jewellery features Coral Necklaces, Coral pendants, Coral bracelets, Coral earrings and Coral rings is handmade using genuine Coral and solid precious metals.
