Contemporary Australian Opal Jewellery

Many of the Opals in our Opal jewellery are sourced from opal mines in Australia, including Lightning Ridge, Andamooka, Lambina, Mintabie and Coober Pedy. Australian Opals are the most famous of Opal varieties and when most people refer to Opal jewellery they are thinking of Australian Opal jewellery. Australian Opals can be found in a vast selection of colours and quality grades making it possible to create jewellery with Australian Opals to almost any budget. Our collection includes a large selection of Australian Opal jewellery in a choice of both contemporary and traditional styles.

Australian Opal Necklaces

Our collection includes a selection of Australian Opal necklaces handmade with genuine Opal beads; a matched set of high quality Australian Opal beads is a rare find as high quality Opal is not usually cut into beads due to the large amount of waste and decrease in carat weight of the Opal this creates. Cutting Opals into beads is a highly skilled job which few can accomplish and so Australian Opal beaded necklaces are scarce. Our Australian Opal bead necklaces are handmade with genuine Opals in a range of colours and grades from value everyday Opal necklaces up to investment Opal necklaces handmade with the absolute finest grade Opal available. Australian Opal Rings

All of our Australian Opal rings are one of a kind designs. We hand select each Opal and always look for Opals with unique patterns and high quality colour flashes worthy of being a focal piece. If we come across a museum grade or collectible Opal we usually set it into a one of a kind Opal ring with a simple setting which won't detract attention from the gem. Our collection includes solid gold Australian Opal rings and sterling silver Australian Opal rings.

Australian Opal Earrings

As every Australian Opal is unique, it is very difficult to source matching pairs for earrings; often a large parcel of Australian Opal will produce only one pair matching closely enough to become Australian Opal earrings. Our collection includes Australian Opal earrings handmade in solid gold and sterling silver in both contemporary and traditional styles.

Black Opal Jewellery

Australian black Opals are graded from N1 to N5 in colour, with N1 being the darkest. The vast majority of the world’s black Opal is mined in Australia and black Opals are a perfect choice for a one of a kind black Opal ring or pendant as many of these gems have unique natural patterns.

White Opal Jewellery

Most people think of Opals as white based gemstones with colour flashes and this variety of Opal is the most traditional choice. Most white Opals are Australian and our collection of unique Opal jewellery includes a selection of jewelry handmade with white Opals in both traditional and contemporary designs.

Crystal Opal Jewellery

Australian crystal Opals can be completely translucent with subtle internal colour play, or, almost opaque with very intense colour flashes throughout. Australian crystal Opals can be found in 'supergem' grade which is considered the best of the best Opal available; these supergem Opals are mined at the Andamooka horse paddock Opal mine which is now largely depleted and when we are able to source these rare Australian Opals they tend to be old mining stock which has been mined many years ago and held in private collections. Our collection of Australian Opal jewellery includes pieces handmade with these rare grade Opals.

Boulder Opal Jewellery

Queensland Boulder Opal is a rich brown ironstone with veins of brightly coloured crystal Opal running throughout the gem. Boulder Opal can display some very unusual patterns and often can display every colour of the rainbow within the same gem.
