This Black Mintabie Opal necklace is handmade from the finest grade solid black Australian Opal from the Mintabie Opal mine. Each black Opal sphere is 8mm in diameter and 2.88 carats, making a total of 135.36 carats of black Opal in this piece.

The black Opal is accented by solid 14k gold beads and finished with a solid 14k gold clasp with a satin finish, echoing the shape of the black Opals.

Gem grade black Opal is almost never cut into beads due to the amount of waste this creates. A 135.36 carat suite of matching black Opal of precious gem grade is a very rare find.

These black Opals are a particularly fine example of Mintabie black Opal, displaying the characteristic colour stripes and desirable gem bars throughout. This Mintabie black Opal necklace is a true heirloom piece and absolutely one of a kind.

The Mintabie Opal mine is now depleted and no black Opal of this quality has been found for many years. This necklace is created from black Opal mined over 12 years ago of which we have been able to source very limited quantities. This black Opal is of precious gem grade and is a real collectors piece.

Mintabie black Opal increases in value by approximately 10% per year, and will only continue to appreciate in value due to it's rarity making this an excellent investment.
